In 2014, Michael was introduced to Biomason founder, Ginger Krieg Dosier, and was part of the engagement between the non-profit Joseph's Exchange and Biomason to test their exciting new technology in Haiti.

The I-40 Pigeon River Gorge Wildlife Crossing Project
This proposal by the Safe Passage Fund Coalition gets us excited! There are few precedents for creating (or restoring) pathways for animals to safely cross our motorways. Most recent proposals have originated in France, Germany, Belgium and Canada but this one is close to home. Also referred to as "ecoducts," animal bridges and safe passages, these are common-sense approaches to saving wildlife - and fenders.

Michael had the pleasure of sharing a lecture series panel in 1991 a couple of years before Mockbee started this Auburn University legacy. The program continues to this day and is still one of a handful of design-build architectural programs out there.

Brownell is the Director of the School of Architecture at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
